GYTS is a stranded loose tube outdoor cable with steel tape armour and a black polyethylene jacket, for backbone runs. Gel-filled loose tubes are stranded around a central FRP strength member, with jelly in the core to stop water getting in and travelling along the cable.
Construction
- 2 to 288 fibres, 250 µm coloured
- Gel-filled loose tubes
- Central strength member: FRP (fibreglass-reinforced plastic)
- Steel tape armour
- Black UV- and water-resistant polyethylene (PE) outer jacket
Why use it
- Gel-filled loose tubes protect the fibres
- UV- and water-resistant
Typical uses
Inter-building voice and data backbones; duct, underground conduit and direct burial.
