Made to order by our manufacturing partners. Samples can be arranged before a volume order.

A self-supporting figure-8 aerial fibre cable for backbone and access runs. The fibres sit in gel-filled loose tubes stranded around a central strength member, with jelly or water-blocking material in the core to stop water getting in and travelling along the cable. The cable core and a galvanised steel messenger share one polyethylene outer jacket.

Construction
  • 2 to 288 fibres, 250 µm coloured
  • Gel-filled loose tubes
  • Central strength member: FRP (fibreglass-reinforced plastic) or steel wire
  • Messenger: steel wire or steel strand
  • Black UV- and water-resistant polyethylene (PE) outer jacket
Features
  • Good UV and flame resistance
  • Figure-8 flat profile, self-supporting
  • Compact, soft and flexible; easy to install
  • Works with low-cost attachment hardware
Typical uses

Aerial installation on backbone and access networks.
