GYXY is a non-armoured outdoor fibre cable for duct and underground conduit runs between buildings and on FTTx builds. The fibres sit in a single gel-filled loose tube that stops water getting in and travelling along the cable, under a black polyethylene jacket. Two embedded FRP or metallic wires carry the pulling load.
Construction
- 1 to 24 fibres, 250 µm coloured
- Single gel-filled central loose tube
- Two embedded strength members: FRP (fibreglass-reinforced plastic) or metallic wire
- Black UV- and water-resistant polyethylene (PE) outer jacket
Why use it
- Gel-filled central tube protects the fibres
