Made to order by our manufacturing partners. Samples can be arranged before a volume order.

A self-supporting figure-8 aerial fibre cable with steel tape armour, for backbone and access runs. Gel-filled loose tubes are stranded around a central strength member, with jelly or water-blocking material in the core, then wrapped in corrugated steel tape. The armoured core and a galvanised steel messenger share one black polyethylene jacket.

Construction
  • 2 to 288 fibres
  • Gel-filled loose tubes
  • Corrugated steel tape armour
  • Messenger: steel wire or steel strand
  • Black UV- and water-resistant polyethylene (PE) jacket
Features
  • Good mechanical and temperature performance
  • High-strength, hydrolysis-resistant loose tube
  • Special tube filling compound protects the fibres
  • Compact structure stops the loose tubes shrinking back
  • PE sheath protects against UV
  • Good crush resistance for aerial installation
Typical uses

Aerial installation on backbone and access networks.
